APPLE HR SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO ITS OWN EMPLOYEES

Apple, like every other company, is dealing with greater opposition than ever before. Is it a smart idea to resist change?

In the context of the Covid 19 pandemic, Apple is facing an increasing internal backlash as employees recognize that the same tools they used to get things done during the pandemic can now be used to band together to advocate for positive change. Employees around the world will be looking for a better deal from the companies they’ve supported over the years. Many of the deals have delivered record profits.

PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THE CURRENT SITUATION

Apple has always been a reflection of society. The earliest Macs satisfied a need for efficiency that was critical to achieve economic growth thanks to the company’s focus on creativity and productivity. The iMac was a productivity machine for an internet generation 20 years ago, and the iPod reflected the needs of a more mobile world.

Many years later, internal Apple talks are becoming perceivable which reflects an evolving value-driven reality. Nowadays, employees desire not only to make the finest work possible but also for their work to have resonance and significance.

They urge leaders at all levels, secular and political, to fulfill their demands to gain better re-construction. Unfortunately, at this point in the post-pandemic crisis recovery process, many leaders still hold the belief that building back the same is feasible.

THINGS THAT CAN NOT BE OVERLOOKED

It is true that many employees will want to return to work, but others will not. Few people have been spared the effects of a global coronavirus catastrophe even when the whole world is in the middle of it. We have been severely affected by Coronavirus:  many of us have been unwell, and many of us have lost friends, family, and loved ones due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

It is beyond dispute that even when the crisis has passed,  alleviating the underlying feeling of hypervigilance that many people are experiencing will require time, dialogue and care. Once the threat has passed, good human resources departments should be budgeting and planning considerable resources to assist employee mental health. The psychology of trauma healing demonstrates that the post-stress trauma reaction begins after the threat is no longer present.

FOR PEOPLE WITH A CRAZY VIEW

That explains the reason why it is astonishing that corporations like Apple seem to believe they can keep their pre-pandemic business models in place. We recognize that the workplace has evolved and that more individuals than ever will wish to work remotely more frequently. However, we also recognize that more people than ever have experienced what it’s like to work away from authoritarian management, office cliques, or workplace bullying.

Many people who have worked tirelessly for months to assist businesses that have generated record income during the epidemic will have no desire or support to return to an office atmosphere that has become poisonous in some way. What are the reasons that make them choose that?

Apple is well aware of the situation. According to reports, its internal message boards are attracting a record number of employees who are critical of the company’s working standards. It’s hardly a reflection on Apple as any large corporation will have at least a few incidents of this nature. However, they should not be repeated or ignored.

We march for women’s and racial rights not because sexism and racism occur in isolation. These are significant social issues that every firm must address. While Apple’s leadership remains predominantly white and male, the company appears to be devoted to changing that. However, it requires more commitment now.

Many employees at Apple and other companies are raising the question of why they must substitute their verified productive environment controlled by themselves with ineptly managed spaces that often reflect other people’s limitations. Millennials, in particular, expect more from life. They want a company’s ethics to go beyond the surface. They want to be inclusive and diverse. Furthermore, they desire the kind of freedom that comes with working from home.

A NEW WAY OF THINKING

Apple must take these internal criticisms into consideration in this context. Apple’s situation is not unique, and the employee’s ideas are reasonable. It is crucial that Apples consider what it means to be unable to work for a better society two years after a pandemic that has killed or sickened millions. The sooner the difference is made, the more people become “the change”. The corporations whose products altered the world must now evolve to meet the requirements of a new generation in a globe that has spun a little faster.
