Automatic updates for older Google smartphones

As we know most older phones only get updates for a few years and after that, the update feature will end. To overcome this disadvantage, Google has announced the addition of a new security feature that launches with Android 11 for devices running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above that use Google Play Services.

When you don’t use an app for a long time, the security feature automatically resets app permissions using Android 11. You’ll be asked to reset permissions like contacts, media, your location, or other permissions when you decide to launch the app on your tablet or smartphone. Even if the app is not often used, privacy and security are provided by it when they try to track or use your device.

Smartphones with Android 6 and above will be able to use this feature starting in December. If you’re on Android 11 phones, reset permissions will be automatically reset, while for all older phones then you can choose to set this up manually.

Another option available to users of older phones is that the device will ask you if you want to turn on the automatic feature. Customers and businesses may have exceptions such as applications made available to them by remote administrators. This new feature will bring many surprises and delights to users of older phones who are worried about update issues and those who use Google devices such as Nexus tablets even more excited because the company develops a new feature that is suitable for the device they are using.
