China’s Xiaomi has confirmed that its new 11 series with the “Lite” suffix will be released at 8 PM CST (8 AM ET), on September 15, 2021. Its 11T and the 11T Pro will also be launched on the occasion.

It’s specifically labeling the device as a “New Lite,” possibly hinting at the phone’s name.

In its announcement on Twitter, Xiaomi did not reveal a lot about design and specs, but the renewed model could pack a few internal upgrades, too.

As reported earlier by 91Mobiles, Xiaomi is due to expand its 11 series family in India this month. Accordingly, the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE could debut in September, following the launch of 4G model in June.

Apparently, the new model will offer 5G connectivity, use the Snapdragon 778G SoC – an upgrade of the original 5G model’s Snapdragon 780G, thus enabling the device to compete will the Samsung Galaxy A52s and the Realme GT Master Edition in the segment of devices priced under 30,000 Indian rupees.

Specs of the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE may be similar to those of the Mi 11 Lite 5G available in China and Europe, including a 90Hz 6.55-inch AMOLED, a 4,250mAh battery with 33W charging, and a 64MP+8MP+5MP rear camera array.

Generally looking, the two devices are both slim with similar design traits.

While the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G model demanded a price of 21,999 rupees (299 USD), the more powerful NE model is very likely to charge higher when it comes out.
